Protecting the acoustic ecosystem for future generations.
Because The Wave Organ exists in an intertidal zone, it is subject to the harsh, continuous weathering of saltwater, wind, and tidal impact. Ongoing preservation focuses on ensuring the structural integrity of the reclaimed stonework and maintaining the clear airflow required for the acoustic pipes.
We ask all visitors to act as stewards of this unique installation. Leave no trace, do not disturb the marine life that frequently attaches to the lower structures, and report any vandalism.
The site is actively monitored by a coalition of artists, structural engineers, and coastal conservationists. Financial support for physical maintenance is directed through our local arts endowment.
